Pierre-Alexandre Saint-Yves
Voice, flute, rauschpfeif and chalumeau
A multi-instrumentalist composer, Pierre-Alexandre Saint-Yves became a
student of music and voice at a tender age. Throughout his high school
years and college studies he continued to develop his musical
abilities and since 1996 he has specialized himself in the field of
ancient musical instruments. He has created his own works and also has
collaborated with several musical ensembles including le Troubadour
Art Ensemble de Gérard Zuchetto (France), La Nef and Skarazula.
Through his compositions Pierre-Alexandre rehabilitates ancient
instruments and gives them new life in turn they allow him to generate
a rich and innovative music. Furthermore, his musical creations have
been featured on the sound tracks of two documentaries and also a
contemporary dance show.
His passion subsequently led him to found and lead Cercamon; an
impressive grouping of vast musical talent that perform before crowds
at several music festivals throughout Canada and the United states
every year.

Andrew Wells-Oberegger
Oud, laouto, bouzouki, saz, wind pipes, voice and percussion
Following specialized training in renaissance Luth, Andrew began his
career as a professional musician. He has collaborated and
participated in the recording of over a dozen albums for such groups
as La Nef, De Lònga, la Mandragore, Weshida and Cercamon.
In addition he is the founder and the director of the francophone
group La Balconade. At the heart of the group, he is the principal
author/composer/interpreter. Furthermore, he has participated in the
creation and recording of several sound tracks for films and
documentaries (Michel Cusson, Luc Boivin and Normand Roger). The art
of combining of sound effects with instruments of different types
and/or eras is the essence of his inspiration. His creations consist
of a very unique music in a universe of its own.

Jean-Philippe Parent
Percussion
In 1996, Jean-Philippe Parent began his studies at the Ste-Foy Cegep
specializing in percussions taught by renowned musicians René Joly and
René Roulx. He went on to complete a Bachelors degree in classical
percussion at the University of Laval with Serge Laflamme and François
Aubin. He is presently the percussionist for the Ensemble Vents et
Percussions de Québec which is the resident ensemble representing the
University. He is also a percussionist for the Canadian Marine core, a
drumming teacher and specialist in percussions at local high schools.
His lure to folklore in diverse regions of the world has led him to
perfect his abilities with the help and guidance of such experts as
Paul Picard, Luc Boivin and Pierre Cormier at the University du Québec
à Montréal. At this time Jean-Philippe collaborates with; Cercamon,
Collectif Flamenco Compàsion, and le collectif de percussion
Bang?. He can also be heard on the latest Bet.E. album.

Mathieu Deschenaux
Double bass
Mathieu withholds a diploma from McGill University which he
accomplished in 2003. He is a current member of the bands: Gadji
Gadjo, Émilie Proulx , Hot club de ma rue, Trio straight pipe,
Merovitz Project and so on. Mathieu has performed at the Montréal Jazz
festival, Mémoires et Racines, FME, Coup de coeur francophone,
festival du bout du monde de Gaspésie and festival Voix d'Amériques.
Internationally, he has participated in the Dawson City Music
Festival, Printemps des Hautes-terres in Auvergne, Philadelphia Folk
Festival, Sibiu International Theatre Festival in Romania and has
given concerts in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Moreover he has taken part
in the Sang9 compilation Ambiances magnétique and the creative Jazz
compilation Dig your roots.
